Dear Friends, One of the realities of the Christian life is that it’s way too easy for us to get stalled on our spiritual journey. Usually the pattern goes something like this: we start out strong, and with a real commitment to follow God, no matter what. But then challenges come up, or our own desires get in the way, or things don’t turn out the way we thought they would, and the result is that the stuff of everyday life on this earth gets our focus off of God, and on to the situations around us. As we stand on the starting line of this new season of life, I know that many of us are thinking about the future - wondering what this new year and new decade will have for us. And for a lot of us, as we look at the blank canvases of what has yet to be painted, there is a sense of excitement, as we consider all that might happen over the next days, weeks, months, and years to come.
